Lately, I have been very irritable. I have been doing some research online and I think it is due to depression. I was on depression meds but decided to wean myself off of them. I did this in November of last year. I have done good without the meds, except for Christmas, but that is a hard time anyways because I am missing my parents. Little things bother me anymore. Things at work that I never used to care about drive me nuts now. Has anyone had this happen to them?

My husband had some episodes of depression, I think it's genetic in his family.

Yes, it can be genetic. I do have some family members on each side that have been diagnosed with depression.

Were those episodes without any reason? My mom has depression too and she is depressed without a reason.

I wish I could not let anything bother me. It is dumb to let simple things get to me. But I just can not help it.

I've never taken meds for depression, but things bother more now but I think it's being 75 years old.

Yes. I have depression too.
