What a cute movie. I love it! Barbra Streisand and Jeff Bridges are at their finest. I have always enjoyed Barb's movies, she's a class act. Jeff is hilarious and is always good. Barbra is a literature professor and Jeff plays a stuffy math professor unable to connect with his students. Other stars in this lovely piece are Pierce Brosnan, Lauren Bacall, Mimi Rogers, Brenda Vaccaro, and George Segal. Funny and cute this movie tells the story of a shy professor who enters into a platonic relationship with an odd colleague. Lauren Bacall plays an overbearing mother and does a grand job. This movie really has it all. It's funny without being stupid and tells a great love story. Great story premise, and great dialogue. It is one of my favorites, right up there with My Best Friend's Wedding. It's a real feel-good one and you want to go on watching after it's over. One of those.
