Good morning, friends.

As in every morning, I start my day watching news. And as in every day, I think that our laws are horribly outdated. Our laws were written before the zoom of technology. The bad guys could only pass pieces of written paper when they were in jail. Now they have cellphones and for some reason they can use the web for some hours during the day. Today the news are centered in a trial of part of an international nob:el Tren de Aragua. They are mainly Venezuelan and these people who will be judged are the ones who kill for them. And as our laws say, these people must be tried where they were caught. In this case it was Arica, a small town in the north that of course does not have the means to secure them well while they are being tried. In my country most people do not want the military to help with the security because we still have the scars of the time of Pinochet. But there must be another way of doing it. Last week, the Venezuelan government said that El Tren de Aragua was an invention of the media (they are even in some cities of the US) and our President had to put an stop to the dumb sentence. Maduro needs to have a Chilean ambassador in Venezuela as that country does not have relations with many countries. So he had to accept defeat and say that the Tren de Aragua existed. Meanwhile we, the good people, are in a self imposed jail. You know that my legs don´t work well. It is because I don´t dare walk alone in my own neighborhood. My city used to be a good place to live. And I remember that when I went to Venezuela decades ago I was shocked by the amount of locks that people had in the doors of their apartments in good neighborhoods. Now those people are all over South, Central and North America. The day is chilly and there is a sun that hardly warms anything. I´m glad that I don´t need to wash clothes. See you, friends. I´m off for my coffee.

All countries need to do more to be sure that the good citizens are safe and the criminals cannot be of danger. It is becoming a problem everywhere.

I agree. But criminals now are so powerful and have so many weapons that many governments could never have the means to fight with them. In my country the government needs part of the money for health, education and other such things for all of us. So there is not enough money to fight with the mob at their level.

@LadyDuck I suppose some are like that. But I think that in my country it is mainly that they don´t have the means to do it. They would be very popular if they took the criminals out of the streets.

@marguicha Some governments are friends with criminals. They do nothing and they receive money not to put their boss in jail.

It seems that the world is in complete upheaval and not safe anywhere. When my granddaughter was in Paris after the Moscow bombing, Paris went on high alert.

I have dreams of making a giant hole (with a roof for rain though) and throw them all there. They are worse than animals. And I would throw them food. If they want to fight, let them fight between them for their food.

Our warm and sunny days continue and they are to be enjoyed before the broiling sun streams down after May,

I am so sorry that you cannot walk in your own neighborhood. Our neighborhood is quite safe although I would not walk after dark just out of caution's sake.
