Echo Chamber

My echo chamber bathroom. Where our house is located there are 2 main roads come together. The way the church, the rehab hospital are situated sound echos..especially in my "closet" bathroom. When I say Closet..I think it Was one at some time or other, but was made into a bathroom. The Shower, sink, and toilet are in a perfect row, and even has 2 doors like a closet would have. Anyway... When Hurricane Michael came through, and we had no phone service for 7 days, after 3 days we could text. But I could only text in my bathroom. There was a Hot Spot close by and that was the only place in the house I could reach it. But the bathroom has always been a place I could go if I heard noises, to find out what I was actually hearing. I can open my bathroom window and hear cars 1 mile away on 23rd st. I live on 19th. There is a car repair shop across a street that goes behind our house, and in the evening, the guys will go stand around a car sometimes telling jokes. If I am in the bathroom I can hear their jokes. LOL It is both a Good thing and a Bad thing having this echo chamber. The good thing is hearing all the birds..the bad thing is all the noise at night. The best time I ever spent in that echo chamber is after the Hurricane...No electicity, so it was dark, I could text my friends, and the awesome Quietness..not much traffic...no AC units making noises, just peace and quiet.and fresh air with my window open to keep cool.

Wow! Your bathroom would freak me out with all those sounds coming through clearly. It would be an interesting story idea, especially for a murder mystery.

I would be constantly listening for noises in your house! When I'm alone that's all I hear are questionable noises!

A few years ago Tom was in the hospital, and I had not shut my bedroom door all the way (found out a few days later what that sounded like)...I was on the phone with my daughter and heard that noise...kept her on the phone while I went to check out the noise. Didn't find anything wrong or anyBody! But I took Tom's shotgun with me when I went to bed...didn't have my handgun at the time. In the echo chamber I am pretty safe, the noises I hear there are not close to me. LOL But when I home alone I hear every little creak in this house Day OR Noght. I keep Smitty close to me.

My house has a spot like that. We have a lot of windows. At least one on every exterior wall. I love it. Its set where one corner comes together I get both natural light and sound from both sides.

It's really amazing sometimes how far sounds can travel.
