Day 101 – Punishment Leviticus 10:1 Then Nadab and Abihu, the sons of Aaron, each took his censer and put fire in it, put incense on it, and offered profane fire before JEHOVAH, which He had not commanded them. 2 Fire went out from JEHOVAH and devoured them, and they died before JEHOVAH. 3 Moses said to Aaron, “This is what JEHOVAH spoke, saying, ‘By those who come near Me I must be regarded as holy; and before the people I must be glorified.’” Aaron held his peace. 4 Moses called Mishael and Elzaphan, the sons of Uzziel the uncle of Aaron, and said to them, “Come near, carry your brethren from before the sanctuary out of the camp.” 5 They went near and carried them by their tunics out of the camp, as Moses had said. 6 Moses said to Aaron, and to Eleazar and Ithamar, his sons, “Do not uncover your heads nor tear your clothes, lest you die, and wrath come upon the people. Let your brethren, the whole house of Israel, bewail the burning which JEHOVAH has kindled. 7 You will not go out from the door of the tabernacle of meeting, lest you die, for the anointing oil of JEHOVAH is upon you.” They did according to the word of Moses. 8 Then JEHOVAH spoke to Aaron, saying, 9 “Do not drink wine or intoxicating drink, you, nor your sons with you, when you go into the tabernacle of meeting, lest you die. It will be a statute forever throughout your generations, 10 that you may distinguish between holy and unholy, and between unclean and clean, 11 and that you may teach the children of Israel the statutes which JEHOVAH has spoken to them by the hand of Moses.” 12 Moses spoke to Aaron, and to Eleazar and Ithamar, his sons who were left, “Take the grain offering that remains of the offerings made by fire to JEHOVAH and eat it without leaven beside the altar; for it is most holy. 13 You will eat it in a holy place, because it is your due and your sons’ due of the sacrifices made by fire to JEHOVAH; for so I have been commanded. 14 The breast of the wave offering and the thigh of the heave offering you will eat in a clean place, you, your sons, and your daughters with you; for they are your due and your sons’ due, which are given from the sacrifices of peace offerings of the children of Israel. 15 The thigh of the heave offering and the breast of the wave offering they will bring with the offerings of fat made by fire, to offer as a wave offering before JEHOVAH. It will be yours and your sons’ with you, by a statute forever, as JEHOVAH has commanded.” 16 Then Moses made careful inquiry about the goat of the sin offering, and there it was—burned up. He was angry with Eleazar and Ithamar, the sons of Aaron who were left, saying, 17 “Why have you not eaten the sin offering in a holy place, since it is most holy, and Elohiym has given it to you to bear the guilt of the congregation, to make atonement for them before JEHOVAH? 18 See! Its blood was not brought inside the holy place; indeed, you should have eaten it in a holy place, as I commanded.” 19 Aaron said to Moses, “Look, this day they offered their sin offering and their burnt offering before JEHOVAH, and such things have befallen me! If I had eaten the sin offering today, would it have been accepted in the sight of JEHOVAH?” 20 When Moses heard it, he was content. God’s name: JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal Elohiym – Mighty God Yeshuwa – Jesus God’s character: Executioner Who knows and understands the reason people die young. They seem to have a good life with everything going for them, and yet you attend their funerals. Nadab and Abihu disobeyed JEHOVAH by offering profane fire before Him and He killed them. Moses told Aaron JEHOVAH must be regarded as holy and glorified before the people. Nadab and Abihu didn’t do that when they offered fire before JEHOVAH without respect for who He is. Moses instructed two of Aaron’s kin to take the bodies out of the tabernacle. Neither Aaron nor his sons could because they had JEHOVAH’S anointing on them. He also told them they could not mourn for them by tearing their garments because the anointing was on them. When Aaron and his sons burned the sin offering instead of eating it as instructed, Moses became angry with them. However, when Aaron explained his reason for their actions, Moses accepted their reason. JEHOVAH also gave Aaron a direct command, not through Moses when He told him that neither he nor his sons after him could drink strong drink in the tabernacle. He told him it was a statute forever before Him. Nadab and Abihu had everything going for them, but in one moment of arrogance they took their station as a free ticket to do whatever they desired, and offered incense before JEHOVAH that He did not command them to offer. Many Christians act in the same way because of the position they hold in the body of Christ. They believe they can do whatever they want because of their position. Yet when they are caught profaning Elohiym’s Word, they try to wiggle their way out of the punishment they deserve. As wicked as man is, when a man of Elohiym disobeys Him, they bring the whole law down on them. You might wonder what happened because you see others who commit worse crimes go unpunished. Elohiym will not allow the guilty to go unpunished. Yet you tell yourselves, “What about that person?” When a Christian commits a crime, Satan is right there to bring his accusations before Elohiym. He doesn’t bring accusations before Elohiym for those who belong to him. Therefore, it looks like they get away with their crimes. Their day of judgment awaits them. You want Elohiym to punish them as quickly as He does His servants. Yet Elohiym doesn’t want anyone to perish, but all to come to repentance. As long as there is hope of salvation, He will not judge the wicked. When a Christian confesses their sins against JEHOVAH, He hears their prayer and forgives them. He clears them of all wrongdoing. Satan no longer holds anything against him. When a non-believer accepts Yeshuwa as Savior and Lord, JEHOVAH sees and hears and forgives their sins. Satan no longer has control of the person but lays accusations against him when he sins. It is Elohiym who judges the heart and punishes His people when they sin without remorse. Christian’s grumble and complain against Elohiym when they see the wickedness of the world. They forget they were once sinners without hope of salvation until they acknowledged Yeshuwa as Savior and Lord. You are not their executioner. JEHOVAH is. Only He knows the heart and mind of a person who sins against Him. Only He knows if that person will accept His Son as their Savior. The only thing you can do is pray for the person to know Yeshuwa as Savior and Lord, so He can forgive them. Let’s pray: Father, help me not to become judgmental when I see people go unpunished, yet at the same time Your servants die young. Help me to pray for them to know You and repent so You can forgive their sin. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen. Copyright © 28 April 2024 by Valerie Routhieaux The image belongs to me.

I have had people that treated me terribly have something bad happen to them. I've often wondered if this was God's punishment. Perhaps not. Thank you for today's Bible study. Have a blessed week.

God cares enough for his children to punish them when they sin. We should, even to this day, not enter a church after imbibing strong drink either, I think. We should treat such places as Holy Sanctuaries of God

@just4him It is also good to keep God in mind, respecting him, in all areas of our lives too, and so our life is a holy one for God then too.
