I find that amusing because in my experience teachers really aren't appreciated all that much. The public thinks that they should be able to dictate what we do since they are taxpayers. Politicians like Chris Christie and Ron DeSantis have demonized us. Now we have the culture wars idiots who think that we are trying to indoctrinate them into certain opinions and beliefs. For many years the principal would order some cheap cheesy item with the school's logo like a lunch bag, a coffee mug (ugh), or a mouse pad. With the principal we have now it shifted to having breakfast served one day--French toast, eggs, bacon, and fruit salad. Teachers are scavengers and will never turn down free food. This year they have arranged to have something for us every day. Today we had bubble tea delivered. Tomorrow we are getting muffins and bagels. Wednesday is pizza and antipasto. Thursday is the traditional breakfast. Friday is payday and each of those is sponsored by a club/team. It depends on whatever the coaches/advisors decide to provide. (this year the bowling teams have done the best one) What I find amusing, however, is that administration has actually recruited outside entities to donate the bubble tea, the muffins/bagels, and the pizza/antipasto. The payday coffee was going to happen in any case. So what are they really giving us? Breakfast on Thursday. Just like they always do. Don't get me wrong--I certainly am appreciative that they've set it all up. It is just funny that they got sponsors for it.

That's funny. But, schools are poor as dirt. At least the schools I've ever been to. Test scores determine how much money schools get. I think it's neat that the school found a way to pay for it. And, as you said, teachers love free food. You'd think they starve or something.

Test scores aren't how schools are funded in NJ. My district definitely is facing a budget crisis though.
