Hey everyone, how are you all doing? Earlier I shared that I had arrived early at the doctor's office, but I didn't share any more than that. Well, the appointment mostly went well. I did get my implant out (birth control). It did not hurt at all, not even the numbing shot. Took less than 5 minutes for the whole procedure. The doctor, or I guess in this case the P.A., was really nice. She seemed excited that I wanted to try to have another baby. She was just concerned with the meds I am on - some of them would be very dangerous for a growing baby. So next week we will have to talk to my endocrinologist about changing and/or stopping them. Two that I am are okay (insulin and metformin) but the rest need to go. She said if he won't help change the meds to call back this place and they'll get me in with a OB doctor to take care of that....and if I got a positive before to stop those 3 meds. She was also worried about my blood sugars. I know I haven't been watching them too well lately. Been so stressed with what's been going on in life (losing both of my grandparents for one) and Eli's mis-behavior. Under stress I just want quick, easy, and tasty food. ASAP I will be focusing more on protein, cutting out the carbs as much as I can, etc. Slowly cutting out my diet sodas (caffeine). I may try a green drink to get in some nutrients from fruits and veggies. I could try smoothies, but the texture bothers me, so if these powders are smooth that would be better. So that is where I am on the journey. Waiting for the next step of getting my meds fixed. Also waiting for the "right time" for the part that comes right after....trying not to give TMI lol. Any tips, or thoughts, or anything to add? Image is mine, an art design I did...What do you think?

Thanks for sharing your update with us. It sounds like you had a positive experience at the doctor's office, and I'm glad to hear that the procedure went smoothly for you. It's great that you're taking proactive steps towards preparing for another baby, despite the challenges you've been facing. Dealing with medication adjustments can be daunting, but it sounds like you're in good hands and taking all the necessary precautions. I'm sorry to hear about the loss of your grandparents and the stress you've been under lately. It's completely understandable that you've been finding comfort in quick and easy food during stressful times, but it's awesome that you're planning to focus more on protein and cutting back on carbs. Taking care of your health is so important, especially during this exciting time. As for tips, have you considered meal prepping? It could help take some of the stress out of mealtime and ensure you have nutritious options ready to go. And smoothies are a great idea for getting in those nutrients from fruits and veggies! You could experiment with different combinations until you find one that suits your taste and texture preferences.

I have tried that in the past, but meal prepping is not really for me. For one I don't really like meat that's been cooked previously and reheated lol. Well smoothies won't really work, but a powder form that you just mix with water I might be able to handle. Going to try one next month

I wish it would have gone a little better, but was not awful. I was afraid that the doctors would tell me to not even try

pretty unicorn. I quit drinking sodas. How I did is that I found something else I know I would like to drink. You can drink herbal teas and flavored waters like hint, or Waterloo. With smoothies, I can't help you with that. My boyfriend had found a recipe for a strawberry banana smoothie one time. He would make it for me. It was really good. I tried to make it and it didn't taste the same. I found out he put more bananas in it than what the recipe said and that's why it tasted so good. He is also a bartender.

I may still have a little soda, I read up to 200mg may be safe... and one soda a day is a lot less than that. I'd probably just use the water flavors and mix it with plain old water, never been a fan of the sparkling waters. That's good you found something else you like. Well I am going to try the powders instead and hopefully find something that tastes okay. I'd rather that than make smoothies daily anyways. Well that is good he knew how to make them taste good.
