It's Final Day!!

Today brings EMT class closer to the end. The book final is tonight and I'm kind of nervous. It took me twice to pass the midterm. I'm hoping it'll only take once this time to pass the final. To get some of these nerves out, I'm baking cookies today. I'm thinking about gummies as well. I got some stuff from Hobby Lobby to make my own gummy bears. I made quesadilla soup yesterday and gave some to a friend to try. Not that she said thank you or anything. I also really want to break out my sewing/embroidery machine. I've had it for at least two months now and I haven't been able to take it out of the box. There will also be more shop promoting and trying to sell some Father's Day bundles. Trying to get a shop running when you live in the middle of no where is extremely tough lol. I'm still working it though. I'm also taking a day for reading. I am so far behind it's not even funny. I have two books started and two arcs to read. Plus the new Nora Roberts book is coming in so I need to catch up. I've been out of work for about two weeks now and I still don't feel like I can find my feet. I used to have a routine down, then I had work and that routine was down. Now I feel like I'm floundering. I'll get it and I know it but right now it's just weird. Today I just want to relax though and take some time to study a little more. Do just a few things for me. What is everyone else up to today?

So I take it you retired ?? & now your doing your own thing trying to get the hang of not working?? I know how that can be for some. I haven't worked in yrs really since I moved from Fla in 08 when I was working for myself (UNDER the table) raising rabbits for 20 yrs making some GOOD $ but things went upside down with the housing market & took everything we owned & that's when we moved to Indiana, It was a struggle to deal with.

No I'm not retired. I was a housewife for ten years then when the cost of living went up I got a job. Lasted for a year when I had to make a choice between EMT class and the job. I'm under the table now for a friend, sitting with her grandmother. In the eyes of the government I'm back to being a housewife. We'll see where my path goes once EMT is over as I'm thinking about continuing after.

@2ndchances24 Yup and it's rough. I thought that my absences would be excused but they weren't because school is a choice. It really wasn't a hard decision for me, my husband and I had already talked about it because we saw it coming about a month before it happened.

It sounds like you have a lot on your plate, but you're handling it all with such grace! Don't worry too much about the EMT final – you've got this! And baking cookies and making gummy bears sound like the perfect stress-relievers. It's a shame your friend didn't express gratitude for the soup, but hopefully, they enjoyed it nonetheless. Taking some time for yourself with your sewing/embroidery machine sounds like a fantastic idea. And promoting your shop and working on Father's Day bundles – that's dedication! Feeling out of sorts after being out of work for a while is completely understandable, but you'll find your rhythm again soon. Taking today to relax and focus on studying a bit more is exactly what you need. Remember to be kind to yourself – you're doing great, and things will fall into place. Enjoy your day of relaxation and self-care!

@JordanLader Jordan, your enthusiasm for making gummy bears is contagious! It's awesome that you're diving into something new like that. And don't worry about not being able to chip in for pizza – homemade cookies will surely be a hit, especially with your personal touch.

Thank you! I'm really excited about the gummy bears. It's my first time making them. I figure it'll save me money in the long run since I'm a gummy bear addict lol. I told the class I'd bring in cookies. Everyone is pitching in for pizza and I don't really have that kind of money right now but I can do this :)

Oh my! I know what you mean trying to get a shop running in the middle of nowhere. Hard to do everything when you live in a small place. I hope you can relax today. I am throwing a lot of old stuff that is too bad to be donated.

I hope you pass the test without a problem. You'll get used to your new schedule. Give it time. I have a dentist appointment today. Have a good day.
