Adjusting to New Roles

After over a decade of being deeply involved in my school’s activities, managing important tasks, and participating in numerous meetings, my professional life has recently undergone a significant change. This shift led me to reflect on my new role and future priorities. For 6 years, I served as the Coordinator of the English Department in Junior High School and then spend 5 years as the Focal Person in Senior High School. These roles kept me constantly busy and engaged. However, due to personal reasons, I decided to step down from my position. Now, without major assignments, I feel like an ordinary teacher, which is a big adjustment after being so active in leadership roles. I discussed this with my fiancé, who noted that my extra tasks never came with additional compensation. Promotions are also challenging and often influenced by connections rather than achievements. Despite this, my focus has shifted to my upcoming marriage and starting a family, offering a new sense of purpose and direction. How do you cope with significant changes in your professional life, especially when transitioning from a highly active role to a more ordinary position?
