Hoping everyone's enjoying their 3 day weekend. I am conflicted..Memorial Day is not really a day to celebrate like we do the 4th of July, As it is a day that we remember and honor the soldiers that gave their lives for our Country. So not sure we should be saying HAPPY Memorial Day...So wondering what DO we say to people to address Memorial Day?
Of course through the years Memorial Day has also been a day to celebrate the beginning of Summer and the end of the school year for Most schools.
Anyway...Happy First Day of Summer! Enjoy your day and never forget the ones who served our country.

I usually say, as you're enjoying your BBQs, swimming, etc. don't forget about the men and women who gave their lives for our country this Memorial Day. Have a good week.

I just keep working on my PC, Usually we would get crowds to Daytona Beach for the beach and concerts but this year I am starting to wonder where everyone is, It is important that we remember the true meaning of Memorial Day,

I think Memorial DAy is a day to celebrate. To memorialize the people who have served our country, to celebrate the wonderful people who gave the ultimate sacrifice. While it isn't exactly a celebration of freedom like the 4th, it is still a day that people should be celebrated.

You are right. It seems strange to say happy memorial day.

I usually see posts like "Honoring the fallen on Memorial Day" or "In observance of Memorial Day". If you want to wish someone something, I usually go with "Have a safe and relaxing long weekend". I hope that you are having a good day!
