Day 131 – Journey
Numbers 10:1 JEHOVAH spoke to Moses, saying, 2 “Make two silver trumpets for yourself; you will make them of hammered work; you will use them for calling the congregation and for directing the movement of the camps. 3 When they blow both, the entire congregation will gather before you at the door of the tabernacle of meeting. 4 But if they blow only one, then the leaders, the heads of the divisions of Israel, will gather to you. 5 When you sound the advance, the camps that lie on the east side will then begin their journey. 6 When you sound the advance the second time, then the camps that lie on the south side will begin their journey; they will sound the call for them to begin their journeys. 7 When the assembly is to be gathered, you will blow, but not sound the advance. 8 The sons of Aaron, the priests, will blow the trumpets; and these will be to you as an ordinance forever throughout your generations. 9 When you go to war in your land against the enemy who oppresses you, then you will sound an alarm with the trumpets, and you will be remembered before JEHOVAH your Elohiym, and you will be saved from your enemies. 10 Also in the day of your gladness, in your appointed feasts, and at the beginning of your months, you will blow the trumpets over your burnt offerings and over the sacrifices of your peace offerings; and they will be a memorial for you before your Elohiym: I am JEHOVAH your Elohiym.”
11 Now it happened on the twentieth day of the second month, in the second year, that the cloud was taken up from above the tabernacle of the Testimony.
12 And the children of Israel set out from the Wilderness of Sinai on their journeys; then the cloud settled down in the Wilderness of Paran.
13 So they started out for the first time according to the command of JEHOVAH by the hand of Moses.
14 The standard of the camp of the children of Judah set out first according to their armies; over their army was Nahshon the son of Amminadab.
15 Over the army of the tribe of the children of Issachar was Nethanel the son of Zuar.
16 Over the army of the tribe of the children of Zebulun was Eliab the son of Helon.
17 Then the tabernacle was taken down; and the sons of Gershon and the sons of Merari set out, carrying the tabernacle.
18 And the standard of the camp of Reuben set out according to their armies; over their army was Elizur the son of Shedeur.
19 Over the army of the tribe of the children of Simeon was Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai.
20 Over the army of the tribe of the children of Gad was Eliasaph the son of Deuel.
21 Then the Kohathites set out, carrying the holy things. (The tabernacle would be prepared for their arrival.)
22 The standard of the camp of the children of Ephraim set out according to their armies; over their army was Elishama the son of Ammihud.
23 Over the army of the tribe of the children of Manasseh was Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur.
24 Over the army of the tribe of the children of Benjamin was Abidan the son of Gideoni.
25 Then the standard of the camp of the children of Dan (the rear guard of all the camps) set out according to their armies; over their army was Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai.
26 Over the army of the tribe of the children of Asher was Pagiel the son of Ocran.
27 Over the army of the tribe of the children of Naphtali was Ahira the son of Enan.
28 Thus was the order of march of the children of Israel, according to their armies, when they began their journey.
29 Now Moses said to Hobab the son of Reuel the Midianite, Moses’ father-in-law, “We are setting out for the place of which JEHOVAH said, ‘I will give it to you.’ Come with us, and we will treat you well; for JEHOVAH has promised good things to Israel.”
30 He said to him, “I will not go, but I will depart to my own land and to my relatives.”
31 Moses said, “Please do not leave, because you know how we are to camp in the wilderness, and you can be our eyes. 32 It will be, if you go with us—indeed it will be—that whatever good JEHOVAH will do to us, the same we will do to you.”
33 So they departed from the mountain of JEHOVAH on a journey of three days; and the ark of the covenant of JEHOVAH went before them for the three days’ journey, to search out a resting place for them.
34 The cloud of JEHOVAH was above them by day when they went out from the camp.
35 So it was, whenever the ark set out, that Moses said, “Rise up, O JEHOVAH! Let Your enemies be scattered and let those who hate You flee before You.”
36 When it rested, he said, “Return, O JEHOVAH, To the many thousands of Israel.”
God’s names:
JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal
Elohiym – Mighty God
Yeshuwa – Jesus
God’s character:
Instructor
Leader
In everything you do, you need a plan of action. You need to know the best way to make things happen.
JEHOVAH prepared His people for the journey ahead of them to the Promised Land. He told Moses to make silver trumpets to call the children of Israel together to prepare for battle, for their feasts, and at the beginning of the months. He also told Moses the order Israel would depart for their journey to the Promised Land when the cloud lifted from the tabernacle. After the first standard set out, Gershom and Merari took down the tabernacle and set out. After the second standard set out, the Kohathites followed with the instruments of the tabernacle. Jehovah then told Moses the last two standards would set out and journey until the cloud settled again.
JEHOVAH has a plan for your journey through life. When you follow His plan, you will never go astray. He will guide you along the path He chose for you, in the same way He led the children of Israel in the wilderness to the Promised Land.
One day, you will hear the trumpet call from Elohiym, and you will know Yeshuwa returned for you, just as He promised.
Matthew 24:29 “Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 30 Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 He will send His angels with the great sound of a trumpet, and they will gather His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.”
1 Corinthians 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we will be changed.
How is your journey through life? Are you letting JEHOVAH lead you? Do you seek Him when Satan comes against you in battle? Or are you making your journey without Him because you think you know where you’re going? You cannot make this journey without Him. He has a plan. You need to follow Him.
Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says JEHOVAH, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and hope. 12 Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek Me and find Me, when you search for Me with your whole heart. 14 I will be found by you, says JEHOVAH, and I will bring you back from your captivity; I will gather you from all the nations and from all the places where I have driven you, says JEHOVAH, and I will bring you to the place from which I cause you to be carried away captive.
When you go in your strength, you’re not following JEHOVAH. You follow Satan. He has you captive to his ways. It’s his voice you hear leading you where you want to go. It isn’t JEHOVAH’S perfect plan for you. You need to trust JEHOVAH to lead you through your journey until you reach the Promised Land, heaven.
Matthew 7:13 “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. 14 Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.” (NKJV)
Unless you prepare your life through prayer and seek Elohiym you will wander aimlessly without a plan or JEHOVAH to guide you.
Prepare now. Then when you hear the trumpet call you will be ready.
Let’s pray: Father, prepare me for the day when Your Son returns, and I hear the trumpet call from heaven. Let me journey through this life with You leading me, and not in my own strength. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

I believe that silver trumpets are still used today, and even brass trumpets are silver-plated, as brass can be a poison, if handled too often, silver is safer. God knew what he was doing, once again.
