Had an appointment with my Diabetes Doctor today. I Knew I was getting a new doctor as my old doctor went to practice medicine on our Active Duty military. So I get to the office..got called in right away. BP was High..no idea why they take your BP as soon as you sit down from walking 100 yards of maze. Anyway, I waited and the "doctor" walked in..and as soon as I heard that squeaky 2 yr old voice, I KNEW it was the APRN from my GP that almost caused me to change Doctors. And Sure nuff..it was Ms Christy! So..between now and 3 months, I will be looking for a new Diabetes doctor.
Why? The woman pays little attention to YOU, she is too busy ready reports on you..No questions other than filling in blanks. She Finally DID ask about my Blood Sugar Levels. When she was with the GP office and I had Bronchitis, she refused to give me Amoxicillin..Told me it was not recommended for Bronchitis...but the Mayo Clinic says it is in the top 2 medicine for Bronchitis. She told me she would get in trouble if she gave me Amoxicillin. LOL My ENT is an APRN and She had no trouble giving me a script for it. It is about the ONLY medication that WILL kill my Bronchitis. There are a couple of reasons other than her to make me want to go elsewhere. They do not want you to call them, they want all messages, and appointments done on line in their Portal. I am not much on Portals. But it doesn't seem like the people who work there do not really like what they do...no smiles, no chatting, just do what they HAVE to do, and go on. I grew up with doctors that Loved their jobs..treated you like a human being instead of Cattle. OK, I'm done ranting. LOL

I always have my PCP take my blood pressure again after I've been sitting for 15 minutes or so. It's always normal. Sorry you have to look for a new doctor. That's always a pain. Have a good day.

Looks like their working as part of life's requirement for survival.
I don't like medical personnel who aren't friendly and welcoming either. You already had enough of what you're going through with your illness, why make it worse with frowns and strictness?
