On July 14 2022, a 1945 Bronze Penny was sold for $336,000.00! There are only a handful of them exist. My ex-husband used to throw the pennies he got for change away. Yes! He would either throw them on the floor of his truck or, he'd just throw them out of the car. The 1913 Liberty Nickel is the rarest one in the world. In 2007 one sold for nearly $5 million. Others include the 1866 Shield Nickel which sold for 3.7 Million in 2019 and there is a 1937 D Buffalo Nickel which has three legs and is a famous error coin. The rarest dime is the 1874 CC Liberty Seated Dime with Arrows which there were only 10,817 produced. Very few have been saved by collectors. There are only five of these in mint condition. The best example was sold for $162,150. The rarest quarter in the world is the 1932 Washington quarter of which there are only 436,600 silver specimens produced by the Denver mint. There is also a 1796 Draped Bust Quarter valued at $1,740,000 among a few other rare ones. So keep an eye out for old or odd pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters. There are even some dollars but not often.
