The races are on.

It's race time. So, after I get something to eat, I will be getting in the tub for my weekly hair wash. I should dunk George into the tube, too but he's bigger than I am so I can't do that like I could a child. He's not that much bigger, but he is a full grown adult. But, the race and pre-race stuff will keep him busy for a while.

The first thing I bought when I paid my house off was a walk-in tub. I didn’t “need” it then (thank God, and I still don’t), but I figured there would come a time when I would. Hope George enjoys the race. Don’t know where they’re racing today (I pretty much lost interest in NASCAR when Dale Jarrett retired), but it’s raining here in Kentucky. (We have a track about 60 miles north of Louisville but NASCAR took the race away.

I don't know, I wasn't paying attention when they said where they are.
Not sure about those walk in tubs. I'd worry about it sealing and leaking. Plus, our bathroom is about the size of a large walk-in closet.

@FourWalls That's pretty old. But I'm glad they fixed it. I have thought about the walk in tubs though because I have mobility issues, myself.

@kaylachan — I understand. My bathroom, I think, is 5 x 6…maybe 4 x 6. The one I have has a lifetime guarantee, so if there are any leaks they’ll come replace the seals. (They were out here a couple of weeks ago replacing the tub/shower knob that had lost its spring, and it’s five years old.)

@kaylachan ........He's an adult and if he doesn't want to bathe so be it. I am amazed at all you do.

@celticeagle I know. But, if he doesn't bathe or clean himself, he could get a serious infection. He at least, lets me clean his stoma every other day. That's the most important place to keep clean right now.

Since George's stroke, I've become physically stronger. I have to carry his formula for his tube feeds in the house on a monthly basis. I've lifted him off the floor twice when he first came home and I've had to lift my wheelchair on a couple of occassions. So, I can lift a lot more than I used to. But, if he doesn't want to do something (like shower) I wouldn't be able to fight him.

At least he gets enjoyment from the races so I am sure that makes him feel better too. Hey, maybe if you plan ti right at some time you can arrange a romantic bubble bath for two,

Oh, I'd love to try and pull that off. I would have to drag him in kicking and screaming.
