Modem Upgrades and Wireless Printing Issues

I purchased my Canon Pixma G3010 from an online shop just last month. Setting it up was incredibly easy, and I was impressed with its 4-in-1 functionality, allowing it to print, scan, photocopy, and connect wirelessly. However, my joy was short-lived when I encountered slow internet speeds. My internet provider diagnosed the issue as a problem with my modem and promptly replaced it. Unfortunately, after the modem change, I discovered that I could no longer use the wireless printing feature on my desktop and laptop. Upon contacting Canon customer service, I learned that the issue might stem from my new modem, which combines the 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequencies. The printer is only compatible with the 2.4GHz frequency, necessitating a separation of the two frequencies. I will now inquire with PLDT if this separation is possible to restore wireless printing functionality to my devices.

You're right, Anna. It seems like one solution leads to another problem with tech sometimes!

@annierose I know that every time we replace a printer, we have a hard time before it arrives to communicate with the computer and work correctly.

@arunima25 Oh, it did not get fixed so I have no choice but just to use the cable in order to print papers using either desktop or laptop.

I had that problem too. I have a HP printer that is a older model. It wouldn't print when we changed internet providers. I found out how to change the frequency of the modem and now the printer works.

It's good to know I'm not alone with this issue! I'm glad you were able to fix it by changing the modem frequency. I asked my internet provider and the agent told me they cannot change the frequency, and so I have no choice but just to use the usb cable whenever I print using my desktop or laptop.
