The finished painting of the rose.

Yesterday, when I came back from art class, and after EastEnders, I finished my acrylic painting of the rose. I darkened the main middle area, as you can see, and also the areas at the bottom right and left. The darker areas were done with a mix of deep red and black, and the lighter areas were done with scarlet. The even lighter areas were done in a mixture of scarlet and white. The the very light highlights are just white. As that was drying I painted in the stems and leaves in different shades of green. I think I painted the stem in viridian and the leaves in sap green. The leaf coming down from the bottom of the flower that goes from dark to light, was done in sap green and then white was added to the paint to lighten it. I then painted the rest of the leaf in that, and blended the different shades where they met. I let the leaf that's below that dry before adding in the other bit of the leaf that hangs over it. I don't know if you can make that out in the picture. I then I called it finished. So I put it aside to dry while I did some more to a little landscape I'm doing on a small canvas with a bridge and lots of greenery in it. I used several different shades of the green in the background trees and foliage. I left that to dry, but I still had a lot of green left over. So I got another of the small canvases and painted green all over that. I didn't do any more to the wolf painting yesterday. I want to watch some YouTube videos on how to paint a wolf in acrylics first, to make sure I get it right. How are you lot doing? I hope you are all well. Have a nice day.
