Doctor Billing Mistakes

Dual Complete Insurance has been around for a while now, you would think that Billing Depts for doctors would figure out the codes by now. Or...maybe they have and think maybe people will just pay the bill they send them. Seems like everytime I have more than 3 months between doctor visits, they forget and send me a balance they say I owe...but...I don't pay a co-pay, so I sit down and call the doctor first, then I call the insurance company...and THEY call the doctor while I am on the line and I hear the whole conversation. THIS time I stayed quiet and let my representative take care of things. Case Closed.

It can be frustrating dealing with billing issues, but it's great that you were able to resolve it efficiently this time. It sounds like you have a good system in place for handling these situations.

I have had to go through this atleast once if not several times a year for the past 6 years. Billing codes are some of the problem.

You have to really watch the statements that come from the insurance companies and bills from providers. I'm glad you're on top of things. Have a good weekend.

When my dad passed away and we took care of all the paperwork, there were some mistakes and it was a pain to get them resolved. There was an anesthetic office that would not get off our backs. Insurance and the medical group kept telling me these offices often don't know how to handle the claims for some reason - well no kidding - but after many calls, someone on the insurance end was kind enough to call for me (she was actually fuming that it was against the law what they tried to do) and it all got settled. It is a relief when the case finally gets closed!

I never pay the first bill if I get one as they sometimes bill before insurance has time to pay

I'm glad our system doesn't work that way. Sounds a bit of a pain to have this happen regularly.

Yep that's about how it works they scam you worse than the scammers do these days if your not careful & paying atten. When I have my desk top up & everything going I usually record the conversations like that so I have it on record.

I ran into the same issue with the VA and billing, too. The balance wasn't that bad, but I wasn't going to fork over the money if the insurance was responsible. One conversation later, it was supposedly resolved. Fast forward to yesterday, call again, it's in the pending process. Well, yay I guess? Now it's wait and see to see if I get auto-dialed again.
