GOOD TO BE SOCIAL AND HAVE MANY FRIENDS

I am of the opinion that if you want to be happy in life, be in some network of friends. A solitary mind is at risk of psychological attacks and related mishaps. No one can stand alone. Being in a network doesn't necessarily mean being with people who will like you. But at least you can have people to interact with. That contributes to personal wellness. Of course you might meet some who might hurt you, but I am sure from such experiences you are likely to learn.

First of all, no one can hurt you, unless you let them. Second, while it's important to have social skills, (as we all have to interact with people at some point in our lives), telling a person they HAVE to have friends is equally mentally damaging. Some people do just fine on their own, or around one or two people. I am an introvert in real life. I don't talk to people often, but I'm married and enjoy my time with my husband. I can piss people off, and I can be very asseritive when I need to be. But, I don't have a large network of friends. And, I don't want one.

This is very true for the cases of introverts and I tend to agree with you although i strongly believe when somebody has a good network of friends such a person can easily receive assistance in times of crises.

@SIDIKIMPOLE A good network of friends, doesn't have to mean, many. And no one should be forced into any kind of relationship, friendship or otherwise.

Networking is good. Nobody likes everyone, but you can find some good friends along the way.
