First of all let me just say that I think competitive eating contests are disgusting and dangerous. Joey Chestnut has won the Nathan's annual 4th of July hot dog eating contest like a million times. Last year he won by consuming 62 hot dogs in 10 minutes. In 2021 he set the record at 76. This year his team decided to partner with the plant-based protein brand Impossible to endorse vegan hot dogs. Nathan's drew the line at that and said that he is ineligible to compete in their annual competition. The company did offer to have him compete in another event over Labor Day weekend as long as no hot dog brands were named. So far he has not accepted that offer. I'm sure some people will be upset to see that he isn't included. Me? I don't watch that stuff. It is gross.

Eating contests are dangerous! It's a heart attack, looking for a place to happen:( Hotdogs? The worst possible food on the market!

I do not watch the hot dog eating contest or the spelling bee since in my opinion hot dog eating is not a sport or spelling bees.

Shocking news! I can't think of a professional hot dog eater that I worship more than...um...Joey Chestnut.
