Fires Already

Each year about this time I begin having daymares about fires both around Boise and in the mountains. We just had a brush fire in the drier area of Southwest Boise. The Boise Fire Department battled a brush fire at about 4p. last night near Lake Hazel and Orchard. That's in the opposite part of town from where I live. In South Boise, it is more desert and dry. It spreads fast in those dry areas. Luckily no structures were damaged. This is just the beginning.

I hope it won't be a bad fire season.

@celticeagle I just heard the news about wildfires in California and Mexico or New Mexico, I can't remember which. Stay safe if they happen near you.

I can relate to what you are saying since my fear is that a hurricane can hit Lake Charles this summer.

In your area I can sure understand that worry. Here we have the mountains and trees.

I hope the fires aren't bad this season and you get enough rain.

Rain would be nice. I think it will get hot and that always means fires.

Things are certainly heated up. With the hot tropical summers here in Florida and at times very dry conditions I keep thinking with the relentless heat that the palm trees don't start self-combusting, At least where I live to the left three blocks away it the beach and Atlantic Ocean and to the right one block away the Halifax River, Best of luck and I hope things don't get out of control,

You are lucky to have water on either side of you. I always worry about the animals when there is a fire. I used to live up close to the foothills and we would get a lot of smoke from the fire in them. I am sensitive to the smoke so that wasn't pleasant. But such is Mother Nature at her finest.
