Happy Father's Day

My father died in a car wreck when I was exactly 10 months old. My aunt saved the news clippings and now I have them. You can see my baby carriage, but I wasn't with him. My grandmother told me a lot about him. He was in the army during the Korean War and played the Bass Fiddle with the USO. Through pictures I learned more. But throughout my life I have had Father Figures who took me under their arm and guided me through life. So Happy Father's Day to all the Fathers who are not only Fathers to their own kids, but others who do not have one.

I used to have a couple of records he made when he was in a band. He made one where he spoke to my mother, so I got to hear his voice. Lost them when someone stole my case in El Paso. But I still remember his voice.

I am doing my best to enjoy my Father's Day as well even though my dad passed away in 1998.
