Our first week in California, so far :)

It's been a week since we arrived in California, and it's only now that I'm actually able to sit down and write. We've been going out every single day for some sightseeing, shopping, and eating. My in-laws are crazy about shopping and food. I had to beg off a few times because I feel so overwhelmed already. Today, my husband and kids are staying home. No going out, please. We're doing laundry, laptop errands, etc. I've been helping my mother-in-law in the kitchen too. She's 84 years old and still loves to cook for the entire family. I really intend to help her with chores and listen to her stories. I like spending "ordinary days" in a new place. I don't always want to be touristy and all. We're based here in San Jose. So far, we've driven to Sta. Cruz, San Francisco, Milipitas, Saratoga, etc. I'll probably write about each of them later on. This coming weekend, we'll be driving to Los Angeles with my brother-in-law and his family. He's taking our girls to Disneyland while the husband and I meet a few friends in Anaheim. California is a beautiful state. Most of the people that I've met are warm and thoughtful. I truly left my heart in San Francisco. It's a really beautiful city. The Golden Gate looked so dramatic amidst the fog. I also love how cold SF is. But if I were to pick a place to live in, I'll still probably choose San Jose. More updates next time.
