Day 155 – Appointed Numbers 26:1 And it happened, after the plague, that JEHOVAH spoke to Moses and Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest, saying, 2 “Take a census of the congregation of the children of Israel from twenty years old and above, by their fathers’ houses, all who can go to war in Israel.” 3 Moses and Eleazar the priest spoke with them in the plains of Moab by the Jordan, across from Jericho, saying, 4 “Take a census of the people from twenty years old and above, just as JEHOVAH commanded Moses and the children of Israel who came out of the land of Egypt.” 51 These are those who were numbered of the children of Israel: six hundred and one thousand seven hundred and thirty. 52 Then JEHOVAH spoke to Moses, saying, 53 “To these the land will be divided as an inheritance, according to the number of names. 54 To a large tribe you will give a larger inheritance, and to a small tribe you will give a smaller inheritance. Each will be given its inheritance according to those who were numbered of them. 55 But the land will be divided by lot; they will inherit according to the names of the tribes of their fathers. 56 According to the lot their inheritance will be divided between the larger and the smaller.” 57 These are those who were numbered of the Levites according to their families: of Gershon, the family of the Gershonites; of Kohath, the family of the Kohathites; of Merari, the family of the Merarites. 58 These are the families of the Levites: the family of the Libnites, the family of the Hebronites, the family of the Mahlites, the family of the Mushites, and the family of the Korathites. Kohath begot Amram. 59 The name of Amram’s wife was Jochebed the daughter of Levi, who was born to Levi in Egypt; and to Amram she bore Aaron and Moses and their sister Miriam. 60 To Aaron were born Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar. 61 Nadab and Abihu died when they offered profane fire before JEHOVAH. 62 Those who were numbered of them were twenty-three thousand, every male from a month old and above; for they were not numbered among the other children of Israel, because there was no inheritance given to them among the children of Israel. 63 These are those who were numbered by Moses and Eleazar the priest, who numbered the children of Israel in the plains of Moab by the Jordan, across from Jericho. 64 Among these there was not a man of those who were numbered by Moses and Aaron the priest when they numbered the children of Israel in the Wilderness of Sinai. 65 For JEHOVAH had said of them, “They will surely die in the wilderness.” There was not left a man of them, except Caleb the son of Jephunneh and Joshua the son of Nun. God’s names: JEHOVAH – Self-existent, Eternal Yeshuwa – Jesus Christos – Anointed One, Messiah Theos – Supreme Divinity God’s character: Instructor Appointee Every family, corporation, and volunteer organization have leaders who instruct the people in how they are to do the work. They work in government and homes. JEHOVAH instructed Moses to number the children of Israel, everyone capable of going to war. When he finished numbering the people, none of the people who came out of Egypt were found except Caleb and Joshua, everyone else died as JEHOVAH said they would because of their disobedience. JEHOVAH told Moses the Promised Land would be divided by lot according to the size of the tribe. When you accepted Yeshuwa as Savior and Lord, your name was added to the number and a place was found for you in the body of Christos. 1 Corinthians 12:27 Now you are the body of Christos, and members individually. 28 Theos has appointed these in the church: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, gifts of healings, helps, administrations, varieties of tongues. 29 Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles? 30 Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret? 31 But earnestly desire the best gifts. And yet I will show you a more excellent way. Just as JEHOVAH appointed the land for the children of Israel, He placed you in the body of Christos when you accepted Him as Savior and Lord. Do you know your place in the body of Christos? Do you know your gift and calling? If not, ask Theos and He will tell you where you belong in the body of Christos. Let’s pray: Father, thank you for appointing a place for me in the body of Christ. Show me where I belong and help me work for You to the best of my ability. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
