Baking Soda (or sodium bicarbonate) is not just lurking in your fridge in the orange box to keep out bad smells. It is also used as a mouthwash, deodorant, toothpaste, acid reflux, facial scrub, skin softener, toy cleaner, denture refresher, and hair clarifier but it has several other uses as well.
Emergency rooms stock it as a treatment for such things as poisonings, and cardiac arrests, and studies have shown to help counteract the acidic properties of chemotherapy. It may also slow certain types of tumors from growing and spreading. It can also bring the acid levels in the body down due to chronic kidney disease.
