I went to Church today. It's really hot and sunny, so I didn't bother taking a coat or anything.
We sang some songs as usual, most of which weren't very inspiring. And then this bloke came up to pray for the coming election.
We had a visiting speaker today. A female vicar, the Rev Abi from St. Michael's Church. She's also the vicar of another Church aswell. Some people say you shouldn't have female vicars, or that females shouldn't stand up and preach in Church. Well, let me tell you now, it was the best message I've heard all year! So, frankly, the fellas need to up their game! And since were onto who should and shouldn't be vicars, or preach in Church, I must just add that it's worse to have "gay" vicars or gay people preaching in Church, I just thought I'd let you know!
Anyway, first she told us about the 5 principles of Mission. I don't know if she used the word principle, but anyway. She said she was going concentrate on No.5 which was looking after God's creation, which she is very passionate about. She mentioned several verses in the Bible that mention the natural world, like the verse about the sower and the seed, and the verse that says consider the lilies of the field. How God loves the Earth and cares for it.
I told myself I wasn't going to cry, but when she started talking about the species that have gone extinct, or are close to extinction, I couldn't help myself. She mentioned an organisation that might be helpful if we want to look after our planet and tackle climate change, and that was Eco Church, so I'll look that up later.
After the service I went and had a cup of my green tea in the Sport's hall. I told Louise all about lsst Saturday's trip to see Franklin Graham and my art course. I couldn't see my Mum anywhere, and when I went passed the main hall to go home, I couldn't see her then either.
When I went out the main doors this little black girl in this pretty white dress with red flowers on tried to follow me out, so I made sure I stopped her from wandering out. Her Mum came up (who is white, she has a black husband) and said, "Oh, thank you very much. She's trying to get out to her brother, her brother's out there."
So I went home. As I was just coming into my street, I think it was the second house from the end, this little dog came over. He looked a bit like a Jack Russell but I think he was a bit bigger than a Jack Russell. Maybe he was a crossbreed. Anyway, he came up behind me and then went to my other side and then started to sniff me! He didn't bark or snap or anything, he just sniffed. I differed him my hand to sniff. But then his owner called him. I didn't mind him.sniffing me.
When I was coming towards my house I could see my Mum being walked down the drive by Stuart! My next door neighbour was out aswell.with their little Pomeranian dog Willow. Willow came up to me and I had a little stroke of her. She's lovely, but she doesn't like the postman! She went over to sniff Stuart but he said he wasn't a dog person!
I followed my Mum in and asked her why she was home before me. She said Frances had a meeting so she couldn't take her home, and Stuart and Julie wanted to go straight home so if she wanted a lift with them she'd have to go there and then and not bother having a drink. I said she could have walked home with me!
I put a Sam Ryder CD on, cooked my dinner and ate it, and here I am.
What have you lot been getting up to today?
I hope you are all well.
Have a nice day.

@sharonelton I watch TV, organize paperwork. I bought an embroidery kit. Haven't started it yet. I want to start reading again; but I'm waiting for a page magnifier to come in.

@LindaOHio A bit like me. Cooking, watching TV, reading. Except instead of your embroidery I have my painting.

I'm glad it was a good service.
I'm generally not in favor of women pastors. I'm glad she was good.
