Google says every bit of the rose plant be it the leaf, the petals, the hips - all are edible. They can be used in recipes. Different dishes will lhave different flavours depending on the part that is used in those dishes. The flavours would be as distinct as stawberries, green apples, minty the works. I have eaten rose petals but never used any part of the rose in my cooking. What are you waiting for?

I didn't know that. I have eaten rose petals and also I know the flesh of the hips can be eaten. The young shoots can be eaten too, as children my mother and her friends would pick the fresh new shoots of wild roses to peel and eat on the way home from school.
