Happy Independence Day!

Sometimes I think we forget that this is not just July 4th..it is the day we declared our Independence from Great Britain. 248 years ago we became a Constitutional Republic, not a Democracy as so many of our own Leaders seem to think. As Benjamin Franklin said when asked the sort of government we had..he said "A Republic, if you can keep it." Everyone enjoy your Independence Day!

Thank you I hope you had a good Fourth too. Back when I lived in Riga Latvia the US Embassy gave a free Fourth of July picnic for all US citizens and their families,
