Every element in the human body diminishes after some age. In India there is a trend of people taking supplements after an age. For example I find many people after consulting doctors and after 50 years take multivitamins and calcium tablets. They feel the deficiencies are balanced by the supplements.

@sathviksouvik The doctors here can be quite dismissive hence sometimes I do my independent research.

I'm not aware of how many people take supplements after a certain age. I'm not even aware that people actually resort to taking supplements, which age group, and what kind. But because you are a doctor, you definitely have more data than others. But the thing is, is there really any need to take any kind of supplement?
This could be because of a wrong lifestyle. Or this could be because of not taking care of our body when we should. Otherwise, why would anyone depend on artificial things? And does taking supplements really help, in the first place?

They don't take supplements as they should! Only a few who are in sync with their health and fitness!

Yeah, it's pretty common! I myself takes multivitamins and other supplements regularly. It helps fill the gaps and deficiencies that we don't get from our daily diet, not to mention as we age our bodies naturally decline and we lose certain nutrients. So taking supplements is a good way to ensure you stay healthy and keep those deficiencies in check.

I take calcium and vitamin D to boost my calcium levels. I'm trying to prevent osteoporosis as I get older.
