Enjoyed tonight's Convention. Actually I enjoyed Wed night as well when JD Vance spoke. Loved his story of growing up. And Trump's grandaughter spoke last night...she was 16 years old and spoke better than some adults. It was her first time doing a public speech. She talked about how she played Golf with Trump, and she said he tried to get in her head to mess her up...she explained to him he wasn't messing HER up, and reminded him She was a Trump, too. LOL
But tonight Kid Rock sang..well..he lip synced, but who cares. Love Kid Rock and his music. Hulk Hogan spoke as well. Used to watch him wrestle. Jason Aldean and his wife were there, but he didn't sing.
Trump spoke quite a long time...He said more words tonight than Biden has said in 3 years...and NO Teleprompter! LOL
The whole convention was so different than others I have watched. More enthusiasm and so upbeat. Truly the Republican Party has changed and for the Better.
By the way if I haven't posted this before...I am now...Found it interesting.
We have DJ and JD..Donald J and J.D.Vance

That was the one takeaway I got from this whole thing as well. Very uplifting and upbeat. Very American. And the entire convention was on fire and full of enthusiasm, patriotism and energy. I know that would not be the same takeaway Democrats would have. But you have to admit, it was a good convention no matter what side you're on.
It will be interesting to see what the Democrat convention will look and feel like. I always find Democrat events to be rather somber and depressing.

You are right...I am thinking when Hilliary ran for Pres. People were wondering where all the American Flags were..Even at the debates back then no Flags. The only Democrat Convention I remember was the one Obama spoke at. The speech was very well presented and hit on all the things people wanted...but it was too good to be True. Gave me chills(not in a good way)...it was just TOO perfect. I looked at Tom and I told him..That man is going to be President one day. He ran the next Presidential election.
Anyway, though Trump went off script...we could still understand what he was saying..But he DID say Biden's name once, and referred to him once. I had heard the media say he would not be saying Biden's name...But..Trump apologized for saying it once. LOL
The look on Melania's face when Kid Rock sang was funny...I don't think she had ever heard him before. LOL.
The Democratic Convention should be interesting since they are hell bent on getting Biden off the ballot. Will be interesting to see if they actually put Kamala on the ballot. LOL They are really in a bind..they KNOW that Biden will not last another 4 years, and the only reason they haven't pushed to use the 25th amendment is BeCAUSE they know Kamala will take over as President. Maybe they should have put someone in the VP spot that was more suited instead of meeting DEI rules. JMO.

@Ghostlady The Democrat party, and I know what I am saying is controversial, has become to hate America. You can see it through their CONSTANT molestation of the Constitution. They like to tout democracy but at the same time they grow (and want to grow) government so big that no one would have any freedoms at all.
Regarding Obama, I did not support his ideas, but what I COULD appreciate is the underlying message that he had, and long thought it made sense why he won. I really thought he would be an inspring figure for black people and could do a lot there. But he REALLY missed the mark on that and I think black lives got worse under Obama.
As for Trump's speech, I liked it. But it did seem to go on a bit long and I think lost its message quite a bit toward the end. I also wish he would have spent more time on the unity thing. But overall, I don't think the speech did anything to damage him.

@porwest My grandmother was a staunch Democrat, but I do not think she would be one in today's party. And I am SURE she would have never voted for Obama. She was nice to Black people, but a bit racist. She raised me and hated that I had Black friends...In fact she let her sister take me in up in Ohio. There was only one Black man in the whole town and he was a preacher. ANYWAY...
I, too, had high hopes that Obama would bring us all together and Unite us more, but he just about ruined the word Unity. Sad...he could have done so much for this country.
Driving a taxi and having a lot of Black riders it was a shock at how many of them did NOT like Obama, and were Very disappointed. I never brought up the subjecy...THEY did.
Trump does go off script a lot and rambles, but...atleast you can understand him...he talks in full sentences, and when he gets BACK to script he has facts, and is optimistic..unlike Biden's speeches of Gloom and Doom..pushing his Save the World from climate change agenda for his lobbyists.
I find it interesting that Biden asked the Media, Republicans, and others to hold off on the anger...and the next day they were calling Trump Hitler AGAIN! Though Crooks took the shot...the Media put the anger in him to do it.
