A very nice sentence from Africa , do you think even after so many developments and change in mind set , women are getting proper response and all. Women empowerment - how important it is ? .

I really am becoming skeptical about this hype around education. First and foremost, primary education is government's responsibility. If we all step in, government does nothing! It takes taxpayer's money and builds statues instead. Secondary and higher education...parents too must take some responsibility, and well, kids can take loans, or their parents can, which the kids can repay on joining some job. That is the way it goes on in the west. Right? The disadvantages of educating as an NGO in our country are 1. There are very few job openings at higher levels. Educating children higher means their aspirations also become higher. They don't want to join at lower levels. Instead, they prefer to not work, or learn some more. How is that really helpful? If they take those loans, they will take up any job that is available to them, instead of saying, chi...this pays less than............ well, to climb the ladder, you have to begin at the bottom, right? 2. I know women who will sit at home, after education. DOING NOTHING. What is taught in books is forgotten after the degree is received. No practical experience, and too much ego to take up small or menial jobs. Who then will do lower rung jobs? Not saying that house help's children should essentially become house helps. But there should be some effort somewhere. Graduates find working as salesgirls wrong. Dignity of labor. General disdain at the pay rates across the country. These are so because there is more labor in the market, and less job openings. Given such scenario, I do not understand how educating a woman becomes women empowerment.

Education is governments responsibility as you said and one more thing which i would like to say is that , it should be free of cost also. but here you can see , education becomes business and other things like monthly give two kg Rice as free, For getting Vote giving TV, Laptop etc as free.

@sunilparthan I agree...education should be free. And education should include accounting from an early age...say sixth or seventh standard. People should know how to manage their money and be able to rationally question the government's policies.

Yes as you said action and words will say but we should provide them the opportunity to prove themself and then there will be actions right.
