Are high prices of certain footwear corelate to greater durability and comfort?

Today , we have lot of choice when we look at the types of footwear . Interestingly , there are different prices for all types of footwear and if there is a well knwon brand , then the price tends to be higher side usually. High prices for certain footwear are considered due to use of premium materials and meticulous craftsmanship. In case of sports shoes, we believe certain brands have done their research for improved fit, support and design and perhaps they would have done. Although there is no written rule, we often take it for granted that the high prices corelate to increased comfort and durability. Question is whether high prices reflect higher comfort and durability? We know universally this cannot be true. In past few years, I went to a little experiment myself. I checked the durability of some of the expensive footwear and did not find it much different from some of the lesser expensive ones. In fact, not these lesser expensive ones had a longer durability. With the expensive footwear, most have better designs and perhaps that’s it. So, what’s your experience with higher prices and footwear?
