Done for the day.

Okay so it's after one in the morning. George has had his final tube feed for the night. He asked for cookies and milk today, and got up several times and used the restroom. Well, so most still went in his pants, but he has been getting up and changing a little more often. He may never feel it when he needs to go pee, or he just might have to relearn, but one battle at a time. Our bed has been consistantly dry.
He started talking about hot tubs today, so I know he wants to get back to staycations. I know being around other people and conversation will help with his afasia. Which has improved considerably since his stroke.

Like you said, one battle at a time. Asking for cookies and milk was a good thing! So was asking about hot tubs, so there's a double positive for sure.

Yes. And it warms my heart to hear him talk about those things.

@MarieCoyle George and I make a great team. Even during his illness. I am so proud of him. He's taking a lot of this like a champ.

I'm sure there have been days when you and he both felt things were not moving forward for him as fast as he/you thought they would. But you are so good with him, you encourage and accept and have lots of hope...I think you are a stellar human, Kayla. (PS, So is George!)

Slowly but surely wins the race. I'm so glad George is making progress. Have a good day.

And, he had to be the one to do it. I couldn't make it for him.
