I decided not to go to the dentist tomorrow.

A few days ago I went there (and paid) so that a dentist would see how my teeth were after they took a X Ray with a very new and elegant machine.
When I went to talk to the dentist, I told her about a tiny piece ot tooth that my tongue felt like it should be smoothed. And I also told her about other minor problems. she said that the X ray did not show anything, that my teeth were very clean and with no tar and to make an appointment to clean my teeth.
I went to where the secretary was, asked about the price and came home. And as I´m getting old it took me about 2 days to finally say "SAY WHAT?"
I mean, why should I pay to go to clean my CLEAN teeth.
Then I traded that amount in my head for something I liked: it was almost 2 of the best cakes.
There was a mail that included a place to click to cancel the appointment. And here I am. I´m thinking where I will go for our Independence Day festivities. We usually have a barbecue as it is in spring. Depending where I go is what I take for the barbecue. I will spend the money of the tooth fairy there.
I don´t remember dentists having to clean so much our teeth when I was young. A toothbrush and toothpaste were enough unless something hurt.
How is it where you live?

When the dentist said that they were very clean in spite of my not going since the pandemia, I thought that I would spend part of that money on another cake.

The more machines they have, the more they want to use them. And I don´t have the money to spend in what I don´t need. I will order a cake today with part of the savings.

It seems that I don´t need one. And probably it is because I was taught about tooth care when I was very young.

A dentist wanted to do that once, but this one told me that my teeth were very clean in spite of stopping that with the pandemia and the quarantine.

Here dental care is very expensive. But I have very good teeth. I have 27 teeth at my 79 years of age and 4 are the last ones which were taken out years ago for other reasons.

Oh man, I totally get that—dentists these days really push those cleanings! It feels like they’re just looking for an excuse to charge more. And yeah, when we were younger, it was all about brushing and maybe flossing if you were fancy! Honestly, I think you made the right call canceling that appointment—cake sounds way more worth it! Independence Day barbecue sounds like a blast too!

I wash and floss and now that I´m older I use a more expensive paste for sensitive teeth.
