Attractive girls are a topic of interest for many songwriters and musicians when coming up with song titles. Afterall, what "red-blooded" male could resist the charms of a "Beautiful Girl." With that, here are my favorite selections for this week using "GIRL" in the title... Your comments and musings on these picks, and your own favorite "feminine titled" favorites or music trivia always welcome... ***BEAUTIFUL GIRLS- VAN HALEN (1979) -Although this single was not a hit for the band, this tune helped boost album sales. David Lee Roth fancied himself a "ladies' man," so, of course, a tune about being surrounded by some beautiful girls fits his image and makes for good song material. *This energetic song grew on me after a few listens thanks to Eddie Van Halen's guitar playing and the background vocals. See what you think... TRIVIA CHALLENGE ***Now for our trivia music challenge for those who like to play along. See if you can guess the artists, songs or facts. Words in "quote marks" provide valuable clues! 1. This song describes a certain girl's body part in the title. Another word to "describe that body part is tush, or butt." Or, when you describe something, you could say it is as "smooth as a baby's _______ ." Making that band's song title: Fat ___________(ed) Girls. One of the band's most recognized songs is "Bohemian Rhapsody." But their best-selling single was "Another One Bites the Dust." The group's songs "We Will Rock You" and "We Are the Champions", became anthems at sporting events. -Do you know the name of this band and their girl-titled song? 2. This band wrote this song "celebrating the women of California." In the song the guy thinks about and describes all the "wonderful traits of girls" from different parts of the U.S. and around the world, and wishing they could all be "girls from the Golden State." This group from California featured 3 brothers, a cousin and a H.S. friend. They often wrote songs about cars, the beach, surfing and girls. -Can you name this band and their girl-titled song? 3. After David Lee Roth left Van Halen in 1985, he was replaced by another singer. The band continued its success without missing a beat. -Can you name that singer? Ok, let's "make some beautiful music" when solving these song and artists answers. If you're stuck and need additional hints just let me know in your response. I'll be glad to supply one. Or, as Stevie Wonder would say, "Don't You Worry About a Thing." Thanks for reading and responding to my music post!!! I will return with a new edition in the near future. Hope you can wait till then, lol. Stay tuned... Source- Wikipedia & songfacts.com

All I know is The Beach Boys answer. Is it California Girls? And Queen, but I don’t know their song. Songs that would fit your criteria: Lady in Red by Chris de Burgh? Was that his name? I have heard that song so many times that I finally looked up the artist. Oh, and California Gurls by Katy Perry. Since it is “Gurls” I don’t know if it counts.

1. Fat @$$ girls sink to the bottom. Definitely not politically correct these days (not even back then), but Freddie and the boys made the rockin’ world go round with that song. 2. Rhode Island Ladies? As David Lee covered “California Girls” I hope The Beach Boys didn’t regurgitate on their royalty checks. 3. That would be Mr. Samuel Roy Hagar, the man who made the band Sam Halen!

I like what you did with those answers FW Kim Kardashian would have loved that Queen tune, lol. David Lee definitely turned California girls into "Just a Gigolo." I think Hagar's inspired "Why Can't This Be Love" is one of the best songs VH ever recorded. Those answers are worthy of a "girl's night out."

As Meatloaf always said, 2 out of 3 ain't bad. #3 Sammy Hagar MORE MUSIC TRIVIA -Brian Wilson referred to "California Girls" as "a hymn to youth", the Beach Boys' "anthem", and his favorite record by the group. This song inspired the Beatles Paul Mc Cartney to write "Back in the USSR" his own ode to woman. Enjoy...
