Sea fishes like pomfret are popular in Bengal

Bengal is famous for river fishes as river Ganges flows from the north. But the sea fishes like pomfret are also popular. They hardly have bones. They are fried and eaten both as fry and also as curry. When it is cooked as curry it is eaten in rice.

I don't like finding bones in my fish. It used to put me off eating fish but you rarely find bones in fish meals nowadays.

Pomfret is very expensive in singapore and malaysia. Only chinese new year or birthday occasions we would buy one or 2. Cost $15 to 25 per tail !!
