Diego sleeps upstairs and I had a nice breasfast here. He had already told me that he never had breakfast. I suppose it is because he has no special time to go to sleep and he wakes up very late. I put cheese and ham slices over bread and topped it with dried ground oregano. Then while I was making my coffee, I turned on the oven and put it there until the cheese melted. It was delicious. This is a day where national and international news are important. 51 years ago, on September 11, Pinochet took over the goverment. President Allende did not surrender and he committed suicide inside La Moneda, our government building while Hawker Hunter planes bombarded it. The years of dictatorship were days of pain, people killed and tortured, families who went to exile and never came back. All these years, in spite of fighting to have our democracy back, nothing could be the same. I can only pray that people don´t let democracy be destroyed. Democracy is not perfect but it is the best we have. One of the things we must do is to vote. We MUST say, in a peaceful way what we want and need. Today I hope to be able to watch the debate of the 2 candidates for Presidency in the US. I can only hope that they think first about their country. I´m now going to shower. I told Diego that he could use my bathroom so I want to be ready when he comes down. See you, friends.

I watched the debate too. I will be watching the election returns on November 5 with great interest. I hope Democracy remains in your country. Have a good day.

It seems quite difficult sometimes to keep democracy alive. Every one wants to do things their way.
