For a long time, Melania Trump has mostly kept silent on political issues. Falsely painted widely by the press as unintelligent and chided more than praised, much like her husband, based solely on who she is instead of based on her character, she is probably right to remain as much in the shadows as she can. The media can never be expected to be fair to her, so why stay in the limelight only to offer fodder for the media to attack her? But now she has come out expressing deep concerns and questions surrounding the assassination attempt on Donald Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania. Her questions are not unlike many that many Americans have had, on both sides of the aisle, around it. "There is definitely more to this story, and we need to uncover the truth," she said. There are deep questions about the quality of Trump's Secret Service detail and the lack of effective communication between the Secret Service and other law enforcement agencies involved. There are questions about the amount of time the shooter was allowed to "roam about freely," even though he was on the radar. There are questions about why the rooftop where the shooter was, was not covered. There are questions about how quickly the sniper was able to locate the shooter and take him out when the multiple rounds were fired. And there are questions about why it was so difficult to get any answers or pertinent information from the agencies in charge of protecting the former president. She is right. We need the truth. We need answers. We need to know if this assassination attempt was more coordinated than we were led to believe. And we need to know it now. Also, why was THIS speech the ONLY speech CNN chose to air in its entirety? Did they know something might be worthy of being seen publicly?
