I've just been to the little Tesco again. My Mum received a discount card for the TV magazines last week, but she didn't know where she'd put it, so we were looking for that for 5 minutes!
We did eventually find it, so I took the discount card off the letter it came on and put it in my purse. We get 15p off one of the TV magazines now every week until 1/12/2024 (that's 1st December.)
My Mum gave me her list, club card, TV magazine discount card and £30. I checked my weather app and it said 0% chance of rain. My Mum said to wear a coat to go out, but I said I'd be too hot. And my Mum said, Oh, well, if you want to be cold!
I went out, without a coat, and set off to the post box to post a TV competition for me and a another of the cards that Mum is sending that says 'Belated Birthday Wishes' on it. On the way I saw some workmen working in the front garden of a house up the road. I think it was the house where the SOLD sign said SPOKEN FOR instead of SOLD! Anyway, they are obviously block paving the front garden. They'd already dug up the lawn, and there were piles of bricks ready for the block paving on the garden wrapped in transparent plastic sheet. There was also a skip on the drive.
I went and posted the letters, then continued to the shop. It was quite warm out, so I was glad I hadn't worn a coat, as I would have been too hot. When I got into the shop I went and got the TV magazines. The front one had a rip in the cover, so I put it back and got another. I then got 2 chocolate croissants for my Mum and Syd. My Mum wanted 6 Warburtons sliced white rolls, but I couldn't get any. I could get some french rolls, but Mum wanted round rolls, so I didn't get any of those. But I did get a bounty bar for Syd.
I got myself a single banana again to have for my lunch, and then I got some green grapes and some strawberries. Mum wanted a pot of tuna and sweetcorn sandwich filling, and I managed to get one of those out of the chill cabinet. I looked to see if they'd got any spiral bound notebooks, but they hadn't. I might go and see if they've got any in The Works on Friday. So then I got 2 bottles of milk, and then I went to pay. I remembered to give the lady the club card and discount card before she'd finished totalling it up so she could add the discount. It came to £13 something I think, but I wasn't really paying much attention!
After I'd payed, I made my way home. It was getting quite warm now. I back passed the workmen. When I came to my house I saw our new neighbours had got their garage door open, I think they'd been mowing their lawns, and the back door of the garage was open too, and I could see right through to their backgarden! But there was no sign of either of them.
I went in and told my Mum that I couldn't get the sliced white rolls, and I gave her her change, club card, discount card and shopping list! Then I unpacked the groceries and put them away.
Now I'm watching Homes Under the Hammer again!
What are you lot getting up to today?
I hope you are all well.
Have a nice day.

@sharonelton Load of washing on, dinner in the slow cooker, travel insurance bought, airport parking booked and paid for, part of the lawn mowed and now for lunch. Too warm here.

Sounds like you have been busy this morning! All I've done is go to the shop!
I did our laundry yesterday. Why did you only mow part of the lawn?
It's getting warmer here. It's going to be very hot by 3:00pm!
I hope you are well.

A nice day here too. Shame about the block paving. That stuff is supposed to be porous but it obviously isn't so when we have a downpour all the rainwater now just runs out of people's 'gardens' and floods the roads and other houses further down.

I'm glad it's a nice day where you are too.
I don't know why they'd do that. Is it because they are too lazy to mow the lawn, or can't be bothered to get someone to mow it for them? You're supposed to put sand down first, but I don't know if they were.

Today our housekeeper is picking up a load of groceries for me and the grab bar guy is supposed to come and complete the installation. Have a good day.

@sharonelton They cancelled the installation and refunded my money. They have NO ONE to do the job!

That's good. I hope your housekeeper can get everything that you need. And I hope the grab bar guy comes and finishes the installation.

Can you find someone else to do it?
