Burl Jam got together yesterday for the last time before Mike moves to New Orleans. He IS the mythical "Burl," a reference to singer Burl Ives.
We drank beer and sang some new and old songs. It was a good time, but of course it was a bittersweet afternoon. At least I have an excuse to go to New Orleans now.
Today it's back to teaching at Guitar Center. How is your week shaping up?

Made an order on Amazon last night, so I’ll be monitoring the package to see when I “have” to be home for it. I have to go to the VA this afternoon for a new ID card. Fold the laundry, make some potato soup, and try out my new electric skillet.

@TheHorse — Vichyssoise! I just call mine “infamous potato soup,” because it’s a bag of frozen O’Brien potatoes in a crock pot with chicken stock. Then I purée it for thickness, and add things like Progresso broccoli cheese soup or chicken.

Glad you got to jam with your friend before he goes to New Orleans. If you visit him in New Orleans you'll have to pop over to Florida and visit me, I hope you enjoyed your time at the Guitar Center, The week is moving along just fine,
