The other painting that I did on Thursday.

This is the other watercolour painting that I did on Thursday. I just did a quick sketch of the flowers first. Then I painted in the background with a few different shades of green, and added in a few leaves and stems. When that was dry I painted in the foreground leaves in a different shade of green to help them stand out a bit. I left that to dry and then I did the actual flowers. I wet them one at a time and dropped in rose with a touch of ultramarine blue. Then I went over to the next flower and did the same. I tried to make sure the flowers didn't run in to each other. I left that to dry. I got a very small brush and painted in the veins on the flowers. When that was dry I painted in the centres with a mix of burnt umber and ultramarine blue, leaving spaces where the white things would be. (Can't remember their official name.) Then I called it finished. I've already sketched a simple drawing ready for painting this week which I will show in another post.
