The office ladies finally they looked around and said I was "making good progress" and said they would send a pest control guy regarding the fruit fly problem I've been having. As they were leaving one of them said, "Try to keep clutter away from the walls". Me: ???? I thought of going to the office and asking what she meant, as I was too tired to ask right then, but I went upstairs to my neighbors. He came down and looked around and said he thought it looked great. I asked him what he thought the lady might have meant, and he said maybe get more shelving instead of having boxes stacked against the wall like I do. Well, I'll have to keep a lookout for "free" shelving that I see by the dumpsters or at the end of people's driveways, because I can't afford more shelving. So, they came, they saw, they made comments, and I survived. I'll do my best to keep it this way and do more stuff when I recover from this time around. Hope your morning/afternoon/evening/etc. has gone well in your part of myLot land!

I’m so glad that is over with. And you can keep it acceptable, I know you can. Maybe you can mention the improvement the next time you talk to a certain sibling.

@xstitcher Oh, it just occurred to me what she might have meant when she said try to keep clutter away from the walls. When pest control comes by they always spray along the floorboards. The note my manager sends out always says to make sure there is nothing against the walls.

It means don't create tripping hazards, but make sure there's a gap between what's on the walls and the walls themselves. An inch or two maybe. Or avoid piling things in corrners if it can be helped.

When you have clutter by the walls you are providing places for pests to live and hide. They could have been more clear with you about that.

A lot of nerve to say such a thing.

Glad that it's over with. May I ask what's the reason for inspection of your house?
