I spent some time today working on a song I learned in childhood days. It was called "Little Play Soldiers." I learned it from the Kingston Trio. I am not sure who wrote it. I have never performed it. But I do not think it would be hard to do so.
Can you remember songs you learned in your childhood days? I can still play the right chords to this one. And I even remember the lyrics.
I'll see if I can find this song on the interweb. Did you have a relaxing Sunday? I don't want to think of Christmas songs right now. I taught several last week.

I do remember the song sung by the late B J Thomas called "I Am So Lonesome I Could Cry." I had a good Sunday.

I do recall some song I learned in music at school. That was a long time ago. I also recall "The Old Rugged Cross" and I am not even religious. It is a lovely song though.

I was thinking the song was Little Tin Soldier, but not the one by the Little Faces nor Donovan... Isn't there one about tin soldiers running up a hill in battle but no one survives? Or maybe I'm thinking of something else.

@TheHorse Even when I was about 13 or 14 I remember making notes about playground games I used to play when younger, because I was really bad at remembering the games I used to play when I was smaller even though my mother could clearly remember the games she played at primary school! And yet I can clearly remember writing those notes, where I was and when.

i listened to the song you shared, it is nice and sad.
the saddest song from my childhood was the one in which the little rabbit is looking for brook, but he can't find it because it's frozen and covered in snow. and the song goes "and little rabbit cries and cries" - and i was crying along.
i love the songs and poems i learned when i was little. i still remember the lyrics
