A story on the news about scads of scams on seniors back east around Christmas time. These scammers call and spend alot of time bonding and gaining the trust of these unknowing seniors. People of that age group are so much more trusting and easy to sway because they were brought in an era when there was such a thing as honor and you trusted others. It is so sad. And, to think 92% of these scams are never reported because these seniors are either embarrassed or, they are afraid if they are found out they will lose their independence. Some people are just no good.

Reporting them to local athorties doesn't actually slow the scammers down, either. More often is the case, the scammers aren't even based in the U.S. they're actually in places like Nigeria or some other country. Because Americians are of all races and cultures, a male or female with broken English isn't going to raise a red flag to anyone. You just need to know what to look for.

These are in Jamaica. The reporter is talking to one suspect and he is lying though his teeth. But no evidence to arrest him. They have so much money they burn it for fun. They are making arrests but not enough.

It's heartbreaking to know such scams targeting seniors, especially during a time meant for joy and togetherness like Christmas. The scammers exploit trust, kindness, and sometimes loneliness of older generation

That is so true. Make me angry. They exploit old folks too because they saved their money and didn't spend it like a lot of younger folks do.

They probably get paid over time this holiday. I've watch so many documentary videos about this. There is this youtuber who did score against indian scammers. And some of them were so angry that he found it hilarious. Sadly, just a few out of millions of call centers out there that sole purpose was to scam others out of their own pension or what ever savings they have...so heartless..

I watched a couple last night that were old ladies scamming the scammers. It was halarious.
