I checked the mail for the first time in weeks today to find one of the dreaded green post cards stating that I have to call and possibly report for jury duty at the end of February. At first I was so confused because I thought you could only be called every 3 years. Then I remembered that I was supposed to have it during the first full week of school in September so I called to ask to have it postponed.
So here we are and get this--my juror order number is 00077. Yeah I am totally getting called in on the first day.
I mean I guess it will be some paid time away from work and an opportunity to sleep past 5:30am but ugh. I really don't want to deal with jury duty. Years ago I was summoned but the first 2 nights I called I was informed that I wasn't needed. The 3rd night the message said that I was done. I don't think that is going to happen with a number like #77.

@NJChicaa I was in it, too until I wrote to them and told them. I've been in a court room before it's not very wheelchair friendly.

You can get Talking Heads’ album 77 to listen to with that number.
I, thankfully, have a medical/disability exemption from jury duty.

I have been invited to jury duty in Louisiana. I like the television announcer inside the courtroom saying that serving on a jury is a way of giving back to the community.
