Watermelon swets

The visit to the candy store last week spoilt the kids and wrecked my mind as there were so many fun ways these sweets were sold. Not healthy for the wallet, my teeth or my health. This one tried to appear healthy by mimicking fruit - and it almost got me as I ate a few. It had an artificial taste that did remind me of watermelon, but nothing like the real thing. Hope my body got tricked into thinking it had some fruit!!

Candies are tricky. AND artificial. Most of them have all sorts of colors that have nothing to do with the real thing. Your post reminded me of a time, around 20 years ago, when I went to visit some friends in the US. In the middle of the night I heard a moan. The man of the house, and elderly gentleman, had a big cramp. I ran to the fridge and got out orange juice. But I did read the label. The orange was corn syrup. No orange at all. I went to his room and made him move his feet first and then his leg. Slowly the cramp went away. After that I read every label. I could be eating poison.

I like the orange slices more than the watermelon slices (although those are good). Not real fruit any way you look at it, but tasty!

No real fruit in them at all! Just flavours. But tempting enough.
