Flying during the daytime has its perks especially if you're flying over central Australia and it's a low flight. The stunning views of the eerie, uninhabited Australian Outback is awesome. There is a unique red tinge to everything and lots of hills and mountains. Little water bodies are scattered around. Occasionally, there are roads and a small town visible.

Flying inside of an airplane and seeing the sights of the ground below is an awesome experience.

I'm always surprised by how many salt lakes there are in inland Australia.

It intrigued me too. Especially when we visited a pink lake and could see and feel so much of crusted salt on the shores.
