Yesterday my son and I went to Silang, Cavite to pay a visit of the wake of the son of my neighbor in the province. He was only 35 years old and a doctor. There were several persons who likewise visited. Most of those who came from our province but already living in Metro Manila and neighboring provinces were the deceased childhood playmates and friends when they were yet in the province, my son was among them. When we were yet in our province we seldom saw each other but here on occasions like this, we met and talk. Even in the province, I can only see my relatives when there is some who die. It is really a time for reunions. We can only see relatives during this time. I guess we the same experience pertaining to this situation.

@rakski Accordingly cancer is genetic it runs in the family. His was not detected earlier it was only discovered on its advanced stage already. It's a silent disease when it is still in the early stage.

Yes, it was sad. I pitied my neighbor so much. He was so sad. However, he was relieved since his son is not anymore in pain. No more pain for him.

Sometimes it happens like that in the US, too. Many in a family scatter across the country for work and only get together when someone in the family passes away.
