Has the impact of stress increased on our daily lives compared to the past?

I feel stress has started becoming part of our lives, compared to earlier times. Be it a child, teenager, adult or senior citizen there are more psychological challenges than what existed earlier. Earlier times, there was survival struggles or financial struggles, but then today social pressure, school or work pressure, financial instability and social expectations. The technology advancement has helped us but then we are also anxious about social media and artificial intelligence. The fast nature of today’s society gives us little time to relax and be on constant productive works. I also feel earlier generations also faced hardships but they had good community support systems to take care of stress. However, today we are getting more isolated, relying more on digital media than the emotional support. Although stress existed earlier, its nature and the intensity has also evolved and now it is part of our daily lives. What’s your take on the increasing stress on our daily lives?

I think it become more stressful today because of the social media. Everyone easily upset because of the wrong influence of social media. We cannot sugar coat what is going on to each platform where everyone has been given opportunity to rant and express what they thought and feel, sadly many bad influences are rampant in the social media that they keep normalizing even though their thoughts are shallow and very selfish, and many follows it and loves to justifying their wrong acts just to make them look like a poor victim or something that the young ones pick up and follows. Social Media stresses the people. And Technology makes it easy for someone to bother other people who needs rest and their peace of mind.

Thats a good insight. Social media has its advantages but then there are negative influences which impact our lives. There is more scrutiny in things we do.

Human touch and human interactions are decreasing rapidly with advent of technology and the fast paced lives. Somewhere there is a constant race and constant pressure to prove and get the validation. Stess level, anxiety, depression, panic attacks... emotional and mental health are on decline.

@RevivedWarrior Most of the humane things arw getting outsourced. And things would get even worse in the future. Or hopefully we will realise that and mend our ways.

You are right- the human bonding has decreased due to technology and fast paced lives. There is less support system than there were earlier.
