Today it is mahashivaratri for Hindus in India

In India Lord Shiva is worshipped on the day of mahashivaratri. Pilgrims go to Shiva temples and give holy water on the shiva linga. They take fasts and offer flowers to Lord Shiva or Mahadeva.
