When you are working a job the rule is that if your going to quit the job you have to give the employer two weeks notice. There were two or three jobs I worked out where I was being treater unfairly and I said "I quit!" and went to walk out the door! My employer each time stopped and told me that I couldn't do that I had to give two weeks notice. I asked," If you were going to fire me would you give me two weeks notice?" He said," No, I don't have to, I have to have notice to hire someone else. That wouldn't be fair." I said,"Well I would need notice to pay my bills and feed my kids too. That wouldn't be fair."

solid point there! giving notice is a good practice when possible but sometimes a job just isn't worth sticking around for, especially if they’re treating you unfairly

That's right it's not worth it. Especially when your co workers pour water on your head in front of the customers and stand their laughing at you. But it should go both ways no matter what!

It should be the same for both parties. Employers and employees both need notice really.

@dfollin I think mostly you have to give notice and get notice. It's been a long time since it concerned me.

I only quit one job, my last public job, on the spot. There were several of us who all quit because of the way we were being treated. 6 months later the plant closed down.
